I was born on June 28th 1990 in the east of Germany and grew up in Moers near Düsseldorf at the Lower Rhine. After finishing school in 2008, I started my own adventure in Switzerland and I immediately felt a deep love for this wonderful place, with it’s beautiful, challenging variety of landscapes.
My life as a cyclist starts in July 2013 when I decided to buy an old Bulls road bike. It didn’t take long to discover my love for cycling – I was hooked! I felt so free when riding that bike, that passion was unstoppable and only one month later I finished my first bike race. (On the 16 % grade I had to push my bike several times, but it was fun at least :)
Riding, riding, riding…Nearly every day and every time with a smile on my face. I learned to love the climbs, loving the fact that after every hard climb you’ll earn an epic view. I loved the landscapes, the fresh air, the feeling of being alive when your heart beats faster on the descents. You’ll probably recognize yourself – it’s addictive, isn't it!
In 2014 I started my first real race season by taking part of the German Cycling Cup, a series of several big amateur races held all over Germany. I finished that season 2nd out of 224 other girls in my age class and that result really made me proud after only one year of cycling!
On weekends with no races I collected moments and adventures during trips through the Swiss landscape and the Alps, almost always surrounded by great people who share the same passion. I can't remember that I'd ever felt so alive and full of happiness as I did these days. And I told myself: "THIS is cycling!" Loving the nature around you, feeling yourself smiling and laughing by having good friends around you. It's more than racing and being successful and standing on the podium. It's electric and wonderful!
That was the moment I decided to enter less races and to enjoy cycling in itself. I wanted to immerse myself in the spirit of cycling, sharing a cycling lifestyle with others and that's what I am actually doing on my Instagram account. I also discovered my love for custom bikes and since then it became my trademark to ride and wear matching gear – From head to toe, from handlebar to wheels.
Today I am proud ambassador of great cycling brands from all over the world and want to spread the message that cycling is more than racing and strict planning and “stupid” training. You can be successful too just by being passionate and loving that great sport.
See you on the streets out there!
