What is the difference between Y9 GPS Devices, Y10 GPS Devices, and Mega GPS Devices?
Y9 refers to our first generation of GPS Devices (2016), while Y10 refers to our second generation of GPS Devices (2017). Mega GPS is our most recent. Y9 Devices have a silver, aluminum band around the body. The Y9 Devices work with the GPS Ally App, while the Y10 and Mega Devices work with the GPS Ally v2 App.
How do I turn on my Lezyne GPS device?
On both Y9 & Y10 devices, press and hold the "Back" button for 2 seconds (top-left button).
How do I start a ride?
On both Y9 & Y10 devices, press the "Lap" button on the lower right side to begin recording a ride.
How do I end a ride?
On all of our devices, press and hold the Lap button for 2 seconds to pause the ride. Then use the right side buttons (Or the top buttons when in horizontal mode: Mega XL only) as up and down to Resume, End, Save, or Discard the ride.
My Lezyne GPS device is plugged in and charging, but why is it not showing up on my computer?
If you are not using the supplied Lezyne USB cable, the cable being used may not be a power and data transfer USB cable. Please use another USB cable that is capable of doing both power and data transfer. If this does not remedy the issue, please unplug your GPS and reboot your computer.
Do the Lezyne GPS devices have mapping or navigation?
Our Y10 GPS line does offer mapping and navigation through both the Ally 2 App and GPS Root website. Our Y9 devices do not have mapping or navigation features.
How do I upload a route to my Lezyne GPS? (Y10 and Mega Devices only)
From the Routes tab in GPS Root, click "Upload .GPX/.TCX route" and follow the directions on the page. Be sure your phone is paired to your GPS through the Ally app. In the Ally app, click on "Saved Routes" in the pull-down menu to find the newly uploaded route. Select your route and hit "GO" to transfer to the device.

Does the Ally V2 App use data when following a route on my Year 10 Lezyne GPS device? Do I still need my phone paired to my Y10 GPS device to follow a route that I've already loaded to it?
After loading a route to your GPS device, your phone is no longer needed to follow the route. The device will continue to give directions based on GPS and not use any of your phone's data. However, if you are following a Point A to Point B navigation and you have "rerouting" set to automatic (in the device's Navigation menu), it will then use the Ally V2 App and your phone's data to reroute your course if you travel off route. If you would prefer your device to not reroute automatically, set it to "manual" and you can still follow the breadcrumb trail to find your way back onto course. Once back on course, directions to your destination will start back up.
Are the GPS devices waterproof?
They are water resistant as long as the power plug is properly inserted. All the GPS devices are tested to the IPX7 standard for waterproofness so they can handle extremely wet days on the bike. We test the units by holding them under 1m of water for 30 minutes.
Can the Y10 & Y9 GPS devices connect to Bluetooth?
Yes! With the exception of the Y9 Mini, all of the Y10 & Y9 GPS devices have Bluetooth (BTLE) to connect iPhone and Android phones along with Bluetooth heart rate, speed, cadence, and power sensors.

What's the difference between the Y10 Mini and the Y10 Macro GPS?
They have the same functions and connectivity, however, the Macro has a larger screen and a longer battery life. The Mini has a higher resolution screen and is more compact.
How do I upload my rides to Strava?
On Y10 & Y9 Devices, you can upload your activity to Strava through either your computer or the GPS Ally/Ally2 App. The Y9 Mini can only be uploaded through your computer. In order to make your mobile uploads easier, please first link your GPS Root account to Strava in the settings of GPS Root.
To upload your ride to Strava through your computer, first plug your GPS into your computer using the Lezyne cable. Next, upload the .fit file from the GPS device to the GPS Root website (the .fit file is found in the "Activities" folder on the Lezyne GPS). Once you've uploaded your ride to GPS Root, click on "View Details" and then click the button that says "Sync with STRAVA." You also have the option to upload your rides directly to Strava through their website. Simply log in, click the upload page, and select the desired .fit file from the Lezyne GPS device.
To upload your ride to Strava through your Ally or Ally 2 App, first save your ride to the cloud and then go to your saved rides. Click on the desired activity, click on the share button, and select "Strava."

Can I upload directly from my phone to Strava?
Both Y9 & Y10 Lezyne GPS Devices (except the Y9 Mini) are capable of uploading rides from the device to your phone via the Lezyne GPS Ally or Ally 2 App (available for both iOS and Android smart phones). Once the ride is uploaded it can then be pushed to Strava. In the Ally & Ally 2 App settings you can also turn on "Strava Auto Sync" which will automatically push your saved rides to Strava when they are uploaded through the App.
Do Lezyne GPS devices work with other training sites?
Yes, if the site accepts .fit files then the files from the device can be uploaded to that site through a computer.
Why am I getting different data readings (elevation, distance, or speed) from different data sites?
When you upload your rides from your GPS to Lezyne's GPS Root, Strava, or any other data processing sites, you will see corrected values for elevation, speed, and distance which use that particular site's software.
For example, Strava's correction software for elevation is based off of GPS data that they have received from a multitude of riders using their website. The correction software we use is based off of NASA's 3D model of the Earth. Because they use different data processing software than we do, the data will seem slightly different.
Do the GPS devices have a barometer?
From our Y10 GPS line, the Super GPS, Micro GPS, and Micro Color GPS devices have a barometer. The Y9 Devices do not have a barometer.
Does the GPS recording work well in [insert country]?
Yes, GPS stands for Global Positioning System therefore it will work the same globally.
Are there aftermarket front/aero mounts available for Lezyne GPS units?
Is the GPS mount compatible with 35mm handlebars?
The standard O-ring mount will work for 35mm handlebars.
How do I update the software on my GPS?
Updates for the GPS software are available at www.lezyne.com or www.lezyne.com/gpsroot in the "Support" pull down menu.

If I start riding before a GPS signal is acquired, will it track my ride?
You must wait for a GPS signal to be acquired in order for all ride data to be recorded correctly. You can start the recording but data will not be tracked until a GPS signal is acquired and elevation may be negatively affected.
What do I do if my screen freezes?
You will need to do a hard reset. See explanation below.
How do I hard reset my Lezyne GPS?
On Y10 Devices, you do a hard reset by holding the "Menu" and "Enter" buttons for 30 seconds. On Y9 Devices, you hold down the "Back" and "Menu" buttons for 45 seconds.

Can I charge my GPS with an external battery pack while it is recording?
The Y10 GPS models are capable of charging while recording. You cannot charge a Y9 GPS Device while it's recording.
Will my GPS work under tree cover?
Yes, but it can affect signal strength and will vary depending on the tree density. To improve this, we use a highly sensitive GPS chip and optimized the recording to maintain a connection in low signal areas.
How do I know if my power meter is compatible with Lezyne GPS?
Why does my GPS take up to a minute to connect to a Bluetooth sensor?
Some Bluetooth devices take longer than others to establish a connection based on the sensor manufacturer's specifications.
Will the Lezyne GPS work with my current cadence sensor or heart rate monitor?
I'm paired with an external speed sensor, but why is my speed not accurate?
The wheel size calculation may not be set to the correct size of your wheel. This can be corrected in the Bike Profile settings. Also, be sure to check the battery in the sensor and your wheel magnet placement. It has to be within two millimeters of the sensor, and make sure that only one magnet is attached to the wheel.
How do I pair my power meter to my Lezyne GPS?
In the menu you on your Lezyne GPS, scroll to sensors, then to “Power” and select “Enable” to start the pairing with available devices. Each power meter may have a specific way to start the pairing function, so you'll need to follow the manufacturer’s instructions on how to enable the power meter. If your power meter has included speed or cadence it will work automatically once the power meter is paired successfully.

Note: Your power meters additional speed or cadence metrics will override secondary sensors by default.
Why doesn't my Lezyne GPS Device automatically update the time zone when I travel?
All Y10 GPS with software version 4.114 and above can be set to automatically update the time zone through the GPS Ally V2 app. In the More tab select GPS Settings -> General Setup-> Time, set the time zone to "Automatic" and tap "Save". You GPS time zone data will now be automatically updated any time it is paired with your smartphone and the Ally V2 app is open.
For Y9 devices and Y10 devices not utilizing the above feature, if you travel into a different time zone, you’ll need to manually change the time zone in your device. If the time zone on the GPS device isn’t correct, our GPS Root website will automatically update it in your ride summary once it’s uploaded. The time zone setting is located in the Time menu on your device.
Is the Lezyne GPS Mount the same as Garmin's mount?
No—while it may look similar, it is actually a more secure mounting system. We have 4 large tabs that we call our "X-Lock" design, which is a much more secure connection because it's a push and turn to release the unit. The GPS device is inserted at a 45-degree angle and then pressed down and twisted until it "locks" into place. Rigorous testing has proven it to be a superior and safer mount. It's also unique in that it can't be mounted sideways—no matter what position the mount is in, the computer can always be mounted forward.
Can weather affect the GPS signal?
Dense clouds are known to degrade the GPS signal on any GPS device. However, we have the latest GPS chip technology and advanced GPS programming to help maintain the best possible connection.
If I have a cadence, speed, and heart rate sensor paired with my Lezyne GPS and record a ride on a stationary trainer, will the GPS Root website still display my ride data even though I haven't moved?
Yes, it will show the data that is recorded on our website. There will obviously be no route on the map, or elevation profile, but you will still be able to analyze the rest of your ride metrics that were recorded from your external devices. Please note you must have an approved sensor.

How accurate is the GPS elevation reading?
Lezyne GPS devices have the latest GPS chip technology and advanced GPS programming to consistently read within 5 – 10 meters of a fixed elevation point (results may vary from device to device). Some models have a barometer to increase the accuracy of the GPS elevation calculation and also will show you accent and decent data while riding.
I've erased all rides from my unit when it was plugged in to my Mac computer, but the device is still full. What do I do?
Make sure you empty your computer's trash while the device is plugged in. Or, select "Erase All" in the Records menu on your device.
How can I turn on the backlight on my GPS unit for night riding?
To turn the backlight on simply press the "enter" button (bottom/left) to turn on or off the backlight. If you would prefer the backlight to turn off automatically after turning it on, go into the device menu and select: Auto > Light > On (or Enabled). The backlight will now turn off after 10-seconds.
How do I build routes for my GPS Device?
Can I upload a route to my Y10 GPS Device without an internet connection?
On your saved routes page, there are two arrows in a circular shape. Tapping that will sync all of your saved routes to your phone. Once saved to your phone, a phone logo will appear next to the route.
Do I need to have my phone connected to my Y10 GPS Device for the turn by turn directions to work?
When initially starting your directions, you do need to be paired with the phone using the Ally v2 app. Once the directions are sent to the phone, as long as you stay on-route, you won’t need a phone connection again. If you go off-route, the phone will need to connect briefly to re-route. Note: when following an imported TCX or GPX file, following a saved route, or a multi-waypoint route created in the app, re-routing is not an option.
I uploaded a TCX file from Strava to my Y10 GPS Device. Why are there no turn-by-turn directions?
Not all TCX files contain turn by turn navigation data. The file must contain turn by turn for it to upload the directions. If not the ride is just a line. You would have to re-create the route with directions then re-upload.
Why won't GPX files give me turn by turn navigation?
Turn by turn navigation (TBT) is only written in TCX codes, so if you're using a GPX file it will not produce TBT. Also, it is important to note that not all TCX files produce TBT, only certain ones do. For instance, Strava TCX codes do not have TBT written in them. They will only produce a bread crumb line like a GPX file. Our GPS Root website produces TBT and also produces TBT navigation in their TCX files.
Why am I getting cadence but no speed when using my Lezyne Speed and Cadence Sensor?
You are most likely paired to speed and cadence separately. You'll need to make sure if you're using a sensor that does both speed and cadence that you are pairing by selecting the Speed and Cadence option in the menu, rather than selecting Speed and Cadence separately.
I'm having trouble pairing my Lezyne Heart Rate Monitor (HRM). Any Tips?
First, be sure you take off the thin plastic layer that is on the battery. It can be hard to see, but most of the time this part just hasn't been peeled off.
Also, you'll need to make sure that you're wearing the heart rate strap before it will turn on and read heart rate. Sometimes wetting the strap a little bit will help it read better.
Once you get it to pair, make sure to take the HRM off after every ride, as if it's left on a wet strap the HRM may try to continuously read and the battery will die more quickly than it should.
Why won't my device show sensor icons with the charge level next to it?
Only ANT+ power meters report battery level. No other ANT+ sensors report battery life. Most Bluetooth sensors report battery life.
Why can't I choose between Glonass & GPS on my Y10 Device?
The Y10 Super, Micro C, & Micro C Watch have both the GPS & Glonass enabled chip. The device automatically chooses between the Glonass and GPS or a combination of the two signals for the highest degree of accuracy.
How do I calibrate the barometer in my device? (Y10 Super, Micro C, & Micro only)
The barometer self-calibrates when it turns on. It is best to turn it on while you are outside.
What is the difference between adaptive recording and once per second recording?
Adaptive recording records while moving at 1 - 15 second intervals depending on how constant direction and speed are. This helps to save battery and maximize storage space. Once per second recording forces the device to record at once per second, so you'd record more data points but run down the battery faster and use more recording space.
Where do I find my saved routes in the Ally 2 App? (Y10 only)
First, go to the Navigation tab on the bottom menu bar on the App. Then, select the menu in the upper left corner. "Saved Routes" should pop up under the list. You can then select from the saved routes you've created or uploaded in GPS Root.

Which Lezyne LED light should I buy?
If you are planning on doing high speed or trail night riding, we recommend the Performance line of lights. For commuting and general night riding, or if you want a little extra light on the road/trail, we'd suggest something from the Sport line. Our Hybrid line has innovative solutions for riders who want an all in one package.

What's the difference between the lights?
We put our lights into different categories based on the type of riding you're doing. Performance lights suggests fast night riding on the road or trail, while Sport lights are lower in lumens, but still provide the ability to see at lower speeds and to be seen.
Do I have to use your USB cable to charge my Lezyne light?
While it is not necessary, it is best to use the Lezyne charging cable provided with your light. We have optimized our lights to charge in a very particular environment, so using a non-Lezyne USB cable could damage the light and will void your warranty.
Can I use an external battery charger to charge my extra batteries?
Lezyne has three older models of lights that have removable batteries: Mini Drive XL, Power Drive XL, and Super Drive XL. These batteries can be completely removed and installed on a wall charger for charging. Lezyne sells an "International Charging Kit" to work in a number of electrical situations. The Y4-Y7 Mega and Y8 Deca Drive batteries can only be charged in the light.
What is the best range of temperature to use my Lezyne LED in?
The best operating temperatures are between 35-90 degrees Fahrenheit (1.7-32 Celcius).
Can I use my lights when it is really cold?
If you are riding in temperatures below freezing, turn on your light in the house to let it warm up before going out riding.
Can I use my Lezyne LED as a handheld flashlight?
Using Lezyne Performance Lights as a handheld flashlight is not recommended. When you are using it as a handheld flashlight, you are moving at a much slower speed than you would be if you were riding and are not providing much airflow to keep the LEDs at reasonable temperatures. Without the needed airflow, the light will automatically switch to the lowest output and may even shut off if it over heats. Our sport line does not need as much airflow, so you can use these as a handheld flashlight.
What is race mode?
Lezyne has Race Mode for all the Performance XL LED lights along with the Hecto Drive and Micro Drive. When the light is turned off, hold the power button for five seconds the light will turn on and flash once indicating that the light has switched modes. Once in Race Mode you will have two modes the highest lumen output and the lowest lumen output. The light will stay in Race Mode even after turning the light on and off. To return to the normal settings and to get all modes, including flash mode, turn the light off, then hold the power button down for five seconds till the light turns on and flashes.
Can I use any USB wall outlet adapter to charge my Lezyne LED?
Lezyne recommends using Lezyne International 2A USB Charging Unit wall chargers for our lights, however, other wall chargers with USB plugs will also work.
What size batteries are used in older (Y4-Y8) Lezyne lights?
The Lezyne Mini Drive XL uses LIR 123A batteries, the Power Drive XL and Super Drive XL use LIR 18650 batteries, and the Mega Drive uses a proprietary 2-part battery pack. The Femto Drive (front and rear) uses CR2032 batteries. All Lezyne batteries are available separately. The Y9 and later model lights do not have replaceable batteries.
How long does it take to fully charge my light?
Charge time is dependent on what light you own, what type of USB charging port you use, and whether or not your light supports 1 amp or 2 amp charging. You can find this information under the "Spec" tab on the product page of the light.
What is the life of a lithium ion battery? How many cycles will it take?
While this is a common question, there is no common answer. Generally, the battery will last between 100 and 1000 charge cycles. There are a variety of factors that can play into the life of a lithium ion battery. For example, it depends on how often the light is used, how often the battery is charged and recharged, if it's charged off of a half full cycle or not, what temperatures the light is run in usually, and any other hundreds of cofactors. In attempt to generalize these factors, we estimate 500 cycles until the battery reaches half capacity.
Will the battery get a "memory" if I recharge it too soon?
No this is a problem with NiCd rechargeable batteries. All of our batteries are lithium ion and do not have this issue.
Do you have to run the battery down until it is dead before recharging?
You should try and run the battery from fully charged to fully discharged with every cycle in order to ensure longer battery life.
Why should I use Lezyne branded batteries?
Lezyne batteries should be used with Lezyne lights for a number of reasons. First and foremost, we source our own batteries. This ensures higher quality pieces in every LED and battery that run and last as claimed (numerous battery manufacturers greatly skew their battery runtimes, voltages, etc.). We also build and test all our lights to work as an all-inclusive package where each part of the product is specifically designed to work with another part of the product. Changing parts can and will throw off the performance of our LEDs.

How do you test your LED lights?
We test all of our lights using a lab calibrated integrating sphere, which measures visible light. While some brands may claim their lumen output, ours is actually tested and confirmed.
What is an integrating sphere?
An integrating sphere is an instrument with a highly reflective interior that reflects the light into a port to measure the lumen output of your light. The port connects to a fiber optic cable which connects to a sensor to measure the lumen output. The sphere measures all of your light output rather than a lux meter that measures a certain point of the light, giving a more consistent and honest reading. You can also measure the lumen output overtime to see if the light has a constant lumen output or if it dims overtime.

What is the difference between the Flip Thread Chuck and the Speed Chuck?
Our Flip Thread Chuck is compatible with both Presta and Schrader valves. It is a thread on style chuck that is designed with ABS button (Air Bleed System) that prevents the removal of valve cores. Our Speed Chuck is an accessory to the Flip Thread Chuck so you can use our pumps with valve extenders. It converts the Presta valve side of the Flip Thread Chuck to a press on style chuck that does not require you to thread on.
What is the difference between the speed chuck and the slip chuck?
The difference between the Speed Chuck and the Slip Chuck is material. Our Slip Chuck is all CNC-machined aluminum, where our Speed Chuck is composed of carbon matrix plastic. The biggest difference is that our Slip Chuck is designed to be rebuilt and it comes with six replaceable O-rings. Both The Speed Chuck and Slip Chuck are only to be used with threadless valve extenders.
Do you sell extra O-rings for the Speed Chuck and Slip Chuck?
Yes, extra O-rings can be purchased separately. Our Slip Chuck comes with 6 replacement O-rings. These O-rings will keep your Slip Chuck in working order for many cycles of use. Our Speed Chucks, which come standard with all Flip Chuck equipped pumps, do not come with replacement O-rings.
Why do Lezyne pumps thread onto a valve?
We designed our pumps with a thread-on connection in order to ensure a proper seal between our Flex-Hose and the valve stem. This is done to ensure an accurate pressure reading, proper tire inflation, and for ease-of-use. It is also more reliable and durable with less parts to wear out.
Are your pumps rebuildable?
Our pumps are 100% serviceable and rebuildable. If you experience any issues please return to your original place of purchase and they will be able to assist you in getting the replacement parts you need. What is ABS?
"ABS" stands for Air Bleed System. This is designed to be able to dial your pressure in before removing your chuck. When hooked up to a Presta valve with the desired PSI in your tire, pressing the ABS button will release the back pressure just within the pump system to relieve the pressure from the valve. This takes all the back pressure off your valve. Pressing this button when hooked up to a Schrader valve will release the pressure within the tube, not within the pump.
Will the ABS Flip Chuck or ABS-2 work on my older pump?
All of our chucks are backwards and forwards compatible, meaning older style chucks will work with the newer style pumps and newer chucks will work with an older pump.
My gauge is broken, can I replace it?
Yes! All Lezyne pumps are 100% serviceable and rebuildable.

Do Lezyne floor pumps work with valve extenders?
Both our floor pumps and hand pumps both work with most valve extenders. Valve extenders without valve cap threads are not compatible with our new ABS-2 head. However, you can use the ABS-2 chuck with Lezyne Valve extenders.
Can I replace my hose?
You can purchase and replace the hose on your floor pump. It is a relatively easy fix that is recommended if your hose is what might be called, "beyond its years." Because the hose contains up to 220psi, having a good hose is crucial.

Will Lezyne pumps work with removable valve cores?
Yes - as with any part on your bicycle, make sure they are properly tight before riding or pumping.
My Lezyne pump keeps removing my valve cores, how do I make it stop?
Many inner tube manufactures do not sufficiently tighten valve cores upon assembly. First check that your valve cores are properly tightened. Do not over tighten the pump onto the valve. Our ABS feature that is built into our Flip Thread Chucks & ABS-2 Chucks relieve the back pressure. When hooked up to a Presta valve with the desired PSI in your tire, pressing the ABS button will release the back pressure just within the pump system to relieve the pressure from the valve. This takes all the back pressure off your valve so when it comes time for unthreading, you do not remove your core.
Do your pumps work with disc wheels?
In conjunction with our Floor Pumps, the Slip Chuck utilizes a 90 degree bend in its design so that it can fit in disc wheels.

What is the difference between the gold and the red ABS Flip Thread Chucks?
The gold ABS Flip Thread Chuck is designed for our High Pressure (HP) Floor Pumps, while the red ABS Flip Chuck is designed for higher volume applications, and will fit our High Volume (HV) Floor Pumps.
Can I use my Over Drive HV floor pump to inflate the tubes on my road bike?
Your Over Drive HV floor pump will inflate your road bike tires and tubes to 60 PSI. If you attempt to go over 60 PSI, you can blow your gauge off.

What is the difference between HP and HV floor pumps?
Lezyne offers both a HP (High Pressure) and a HV (High Volume) version of every pump. "HP" stands for High Pressure. Road bike tires are thin, low volume, and require higher pressures (anywhere between 90 and 160 PSI). Our HP pumps are designed to make it easier to pump up road bike tires to those pressures by using smaller pump barrels. "HV" stands for High Volume. Most mountain bike tires are wider and larger, requiring more volume to fill up these tires. We developed our HV pumps with bigger pump barrels to push more air into the tires, making inflation of mountain bike tires faster and easier.
Which floor pump can I use to inflate both my road and mountain bike tubes?
If you had to choose one pump, we suggest going with one from the HP (High Pressure) lineup with a digital gauge. The HP will allow you to get to high pressures and the digital gauge will give you the low pressure accuracy for high volume applications.
What is the difference between the floor pumps?
Most of the differences are in the materials and features. Generally, the higher end models are composed of all CNC aluminum or steel. Our Sport Floor models are composed of a composite matrix material for the base. Another main difference is High Pressure (Road) vs. High Volume (Mountain). Do you have an adapter to connect any of your chucks (Flip Thread Chuck or ABS-2) to an air compressor?
We do not have adaptors to fit any of our chucks to air compressors. Our HV pumps are so effective in High Volume applications that they nearly eliminate the need for air compressors (to seat tubeless tires) completely.
What type of lube do I use on my Lezyne pump?
For floor pumps, you can use grease that is commonly used on other parts of your bicycle. This is usually thick, petroleum based grease. DO NOT USE LIQUID OILS. Be sure not to over-grease the pump, it only needs enough to coat the surfaces, not so much that it makes the O-ring stuck on the piston. Do not get any grease into the one way valve at the bottom of the barrel, as it can cause the pump to leak air back through the barrel when under pressure. For hand pumps, silicone grease is best, but thick petroleum based grease could be used as a substitute. Same rules apply; don't over grease and don't get any grease in the one-way valve.

What is the difference between HV and HP pumps?
HV hand pumps refer to high volume pumps, while HP hand pumps refers to high pressure pumps. The main difference between HP and HV and pumps is the barrel diameter. The HP hand pumps have a smaller barrel diameter that pushes less air volume than the HV pumps, but allows you to achieve a higher pressure. Typically you want a HP hand pump for high pressure tires ranging from 80psi-160psi. Typically, this refers to skinnier road tires, but some people have wider tires that require high pressure as well. Our HV pumps work better on high volume tires that require lower pressures. For example, HV pumps would work best for fat bikes and mountain bike tires, ranging from 0-60psi.
Which hand pump should I buy?
Generally, if you are riding a road bike or a commuter bike, you will likely want one of our HP (High Pressure) models. These pumps range from 0psi-120psi. If riding a mountain bike or a fat bike, you will want to look at any of our HV (High Volume) models. These pumps range from 0psi-90psi and deliver a higher volume of air into the tire then our high pressure pumps. Will my HV pump work on my road bike?
A HV (High Volume) pump will partially fill your road bike tire. However, the pump will not get to pressures necessary to properly fill your tire, and riding on an improperly inflated tire is not safe.
Will my HP pump work on my mountain bike?
Yes, a HP (High Pressure) pump will certainly work on your mountain bike. However, it will push less volume in than a HV (High Volume) pump and will take longer to properly fill the tire.
Can the Pen Gauge work on all Lezyne hand pumps?
Yes, the Pen Gauge comes with an ABS Chuck.
How many strokes does it take to inflate a tire?
Due to the amount of variables, there is not a single answer to this question. There are so many different "standardized" tire sizes that it is hard for us to give a generalized statement for all our pumps. The quality and design of our pumps make pumping easy, no matter how many strokes it takes.
What is the difference between the Road Drive and Pressure Drive pumps?
The main difference between the Road Drive and Pressure Drive hand pumps is the diameter of the barrels. The Road Drive barrel has a slightly smaller diameter which makes getting up to higher pressures a bit easier on the arms. The Road Drive also has a full aluminum piston head, where the Pressure Drive has a carbon matrix piston head. It also should be noted that the Flex Hose that comes with the Road Drive is only compatible with Presta valves. This ABS Flex Hose has both a threaded and a slip-fit Presta valve connection. The Pressure Drive is equipped with our dual ABS Flex Hose that is compatible with both Presta and Schrader valves.
It is also important to note that the two pumps come with different mounts. While both pumps come with brackets for mounting to bottle cage bolts, only the Road Drive comes with an aluminum version. The pump bracket for the Road Drive is only designed to hold the barrel of the pump, so the pump also comes with a barrel sleeve to keep the pump closed when not in use. The mount for the Pressure Drive is made from Composite Matrix and is designed to hold the handle and the barrel of the pump in place.
The two pumps also differ in size offerings. The Road Drive is available in Medium and Large sizes while the Pressure Drive is available in Small and Medium sizes.

What is the difference between the ABS Flex Hose and the ABS Speed Flex Hose?
The ABS Flex Hose has a threaded connection on both sides. One side of it is designed for Presta valves and the other side is developed for Schrader valves. The ABS Speed Flex hose comes on the Road Drive and Carbon Road Drive hand pumps only and is designed for use with Presta valves only. One side of the hose is a NON-THREADED slip-fit connection for speed and ease of inflation, while the other side is a threaded Presta connection for ensured stability.
Will the ABS Flex Hose work with my older Lezyne pump?
Yes, our new Flex Hose with the Air Bleed System(ABS) is able to thread into your older model Lezyne hand pump. ABS Flex Hoses are available separately for purchase if you're looking to upgrade your older hand pump.

Do your hand pumps work on valve extenders?
Lezyne hand pumps utilize a threaded connection in which the Flex Hose threads directly onto the valve. If your valve extenders have threaded tips which accept a standard plastic dust cap, then your Lezyne pump will work with your extenders. If your valve extenders are smooth and do not have a threaded tip, there are 2 options which you can choose from: Purchase Lezyne Valve Extenders which have threaded tips compatible with Lezyne's threaded Flex Hose. Or you can Upgrade your pump with Lezyne's ABS Speed Flex Hose which has both a Presta threaded connection and a Presta Slip-Fit connection. This ABS Flex Hose comes standard on both the Carbon Road Drive and Road Drive hand pumps. You can purchase this upgrade directly through your local Lezyne retailer or directly though Lezyne USA if located within the United States.
What is the difference between the hand pumps?
The major distinguisher between every hand pump in our line is materials used. Our Carbon Road Drive is made of a full carbon barrel, CNC end caps and internal parts (for strength, weight, and durability). Our HP Drive has a barrel and shaft that are made up of Aluminum. What is the difference between the three shock pumps?
We offer two hand pump style Shock Drives. One is our new Digital Shock Drive, with a built in digital gauge on the side of the barrel, and the other is the Shock Drive, with a traditional analogue gauge. Our hand models are designed for the trail and easily hide away in a pack. The third model we offer is our Shock Digital Drive. This pump is a full size floor pump and designed to be a "shop" tool or for at home use. Our Shock Digital Drive is built to outlast the everlasting abuse of bike mechanics. It also comes equipped with a braided hose for durability and a two-step shock specific chuck that allows you to keep a sealed connection, leaving the perfect pressure when threading off.

What is your lightest hand pump?

What is your smallest hand pump?
Our smallest hand pumps are the size Small hand pumps. These pumps measure about 7.5in/19cm in length. We offers both HP and HV pumps in the Small size.
Do you make a frame pump?
While we often receive requests to make an older, more traditional style "frame pump,” it is extremely difficult to make a pump that meets Lezyne quality and performance standards while at the same time fits the wide variety of complex frame geometries and tube shapes of modern bike frames. Therefore, we attach our pumps with a mount that uses water bottle cage bolts since almost all frames accept water bottle cages. In addition, our “large” style HP handpumps are nearly as efficient old style frame pumps with their included flex hose and overlapping handle.
Can I rebuild and service my hand pump?

Why do Lezyne pumps thread onto a valve?
We designed almost all of our pumps with a threaded connection because it is the most effective way to secure the pump to the valve. The threaded connection will ensure that all of the air that you pump actually goes into the tire. It is also more reliable and durable with fewer parts to wear out.
Does the ABS Speed Flex Hose (from the Carbon Road Drive and Road Drive) work with disc wheels?
While it may be possible, it is not optimized to do so and is not the best option for a disc wheel.

Can I use the CO2 Flex Hose with other Lezyne hand pumps?
No. Only the pressure CFH pump can use the CO2 Flex hose.
Can I use 25G CO2 cartridges with my Lezyne CO2 inflator?
The Alloy Drive CO2 inflator only works with 16G CO2, while the rest of our CO2 inflators will work with all threaded 16G to 25G CO2 cartridges. The 25g cartridges are best to fill higher volume tires (like mountain bikes) and 16g cartridges are meant for higher pressure applications (such as road bikes). We also offer a 20g cartridge for the mid-volume tires found on gravel-type bikes.
Can I use threadless CO2 cartridges with your Lezyne CO2 inflators?
No.

Yes! The Alloy Cage and the Carbon Cage have an integrated pump mount that will fit Road Drive style hand pumps.
Do your bottle cages work on small frames?

What is the difference between the SV and V tools?

Why do you have L-bend hex keys on your tools?
L-bend hex keys make some awkward and hard-to-get-to Allen bolts easier to reach and work on. They also give you more torque if necessary.

Do you make a cassette tool for Campagnolo?
Lezyne does not make a cassette tool for Campagnolo drive train parts. The only Campagnolo compatible tool that we make is our 11 Speed Campagnolo chain breaker.
Can you use your chain whip tools on 11-speed cassettes?

Can I put a single speed chain on your chain whips?
No, they are designed multi-speed chains.
Will the CNC rod work with my non-Lezyne cassette and bottom bracket tools?
Our CNC Rod was designed specifically to be used in conjunction with our 2-Way tools. No other manufacturer's tools will work with our CNC Rod.
Are the bits on the 3-Way Y-Wrenches interchangeable?
All of our 3-way tools come with an extra set of replacement bits. Each model is designed to fit the corresponding bits. You cannot interchange bits between the 3 models.
Can I replace the 3-Way bits with any hex key?
No, they are designed to be used with the proper bits.

What is the difference between glue and self-adhesive patches?
Our Smart Kit patches are self-adhesive patches that you peel and place on the tube where a hole is present. They are quick and easy fixes for on-the-fly repairs, which are meant only to get you home safely. Our Classic Kit uses glue to adhere the patches to the tube, creating a more permanent bond with the tube.
Is the Lever Kit waterproof?
The Lever Kit is weather-resistant.
Can your self-adhesive patches work on high-pressure road tubes?
Our self-adhesive patches work very well on most high and low pressure applications.
Can I use my Saber Lever to remove my pedals?
Yes. You can use your Saber Lever to remove pedals if the pedal removal size is 15mm.
Is it safe to use the alloy levers on my carbon clincher wheels?
We do not recommend using metal levers on carbon clincher wheels. We developed the Power and Matrix Levers for carbon wheels.
What is the difference between Power Levers and the Matrix Levers?
Power Levers were designed to give you extra torque on wire bead tires. They have integrated spoke hooks that allow you to hook the lever onto a spoke, freeing up both of your hands. The Matrix Levers are designed strictly as a tire removal tool with no extras, just light and strong.

What is the difference between Y9 GPS Devices, Y10 GPS Devices, and Mega GPS Devices?
Y9 refers to our first generation of GPS Devices (2016), while Y10 refers to our second generation of GPS Devices (2017). Mega GPS is our most recent. Y9 Devices have a silver, aluminum band around the body. The Y9 Devices work with the GPS Ally App, while the Y10 and Mega Devices work with the GPS Ally v2 App.
How do I turn on my Lezyne GPS device?
On both Y9 & Y10 devices, press and hold the "Back" button for 2 seconds (top-left button).
How do I start a ride?
On both Y9 & Y10 devices, press the "Lap" button on the lower right side to begin recording a ride.
How do I end a ride?
On all of our devices, press and hold the Lap button for 2 seconds to pause the ride. Then use the right side buttons (Or the top buttons when in horizontal mode: Mega XL only) as up and down to Resume, End, Save, or Discard the ride.
My Lezyne GPS device is plugged in and charging, but why is it not showing up on my computer?
If you are not using the supplied Lezyne USB cable, the cable being used may not be a power and data transfer USB cable. Please use another USB cable that is capable of doing both power and data transfer. If this does not remedy the issue, please unplug your GPS and reboot your computer.
Do the Lezyne GPS devices have mapping or navigation?
Our Y10 GPS line does offer mapping and navigation through both the Ally 2 App and GPS Root website. Our Y9 devices do not have mapping or navigation features.
How do I upload a route to my Lezyne GPS? (Y10 and Mega Devices only)
From the Routes tab in GPS Root, click "Upload .GPX/.TCX route" and follow the directions on the page. Be sure your phone is paired to your GPS through the Ally app. In the Ally app, click on "Saved Routes" in the pull-down menu to find the newly uploaded route. Select your route and hit "GO" to transfer to the device.

Does the Ally V2 App use data when following a route on my Year 10 Lezyne GPS device? Do I still need my phone paired to my Y10 GPS device to follow a route that I've already loaded to it?
After loading a route to your GPS device, your phone is no longer needed to follow the route. The device will continue to give directions based on GPS and not use any of your phone's data. However, if you are following a Point A to Point B navigation and you have "rerouting" set to automatic (in the device's Navigation menu), it will then use the Ally V2 App and your phone's data to reroute your course if you travel off route. If you would prefer your device to not reroute automatically, set it to "manual" and you can still follow the breadcrumb trail to find your way back onto course. Once back on course, directions to your destination will start back up.
Are the GPS devices waterproof?
They are water resistant as long as the power plug is properly inserted. All the GPS devices are tested to the IPX7 standard for waterproofness so they can handle extremely wet days on the bike. We test the units by holding them under 1m of water for 30 minutes.
Can the Y10 & Y9 GPS devices connect to Bluetooth?
Yes! With the exception of the Y9 Mini, all of the Y10 & Y9 GPS devices have Bluetooth (BTLE) to connect iPhone and Android phones along with Bluetooth heart rate, speed, cadence, and power sensors.

What's the difference between the Y10 Mini and the Y10 Macro GPS?
They have the same functions and connectivity, however, the Macro has a larger screen and a longer battery life. The Mini has a higher resolution screen and is more compact.
How do I upload my rides to Strava?
On Y10 & Y9 Devices, you can upload your activity to Strava through either your computer or the GPS Ally/Ally2 App. The Y9 Mini can only be uploaded through your computer. In order to make your mobile uploads easier, please first link your GPS Root account to Strava in the settings of GPS Root.
To upload your ride to Strava through your computer, first plug your GPS into your computer using the Lezyne cable. Next, upload the .fit file from the GPS device to the GPS Root website (the .fit file is found in the "Activities" folder on the Lezyne GPS). Once you've uploaded your ride to GPS Root, click on "View Details" and then click the button that says "Sync with STRAVA." You also have the option to upload your rides directly to Strava through their website. Simply log in, click the upload page, and select the desired .fit file from the Lezyne GPS device.
To upload your ride to Strava through your Ally or Ally 2 App, first save your ride to the cloud and then go to your saved rides. Click on the desired activity, click on the share button, and select "Strava."

Can I upload directly from my phone to Strava?
Both Y9 & Y10 Lezyne GPS Devices (except the Y9 Mini) are capable of uploading rides from the device to your phone via the Lezyne GPS Ally or Ally 2 App (available for both iOS and Android smart phones). Once the ride is uploaded it can then be pushed to Strava. In the Ally & Ally 2 App settings you can also turn on "Strava Auto Sync" which will automatically push your saved rides to Strava when they are uploaded through the App.
Do Lezyne GPS devices work with other training sites?
Yes, if the site accepts .fit files then the files from the device can be uploaded to that site through a computer.
Why am I getting different data readings (elevation, distance, or speed) from different data sites?
When you upload your rides from your GPS to Lezyne's GPS Root, Strava, or any other data processing sites, you will see corrected values for elevation, speed, and distance which use that particular site's software.
For example, Strava's correction software for elevation is based off of GPS data that they have received from a multitude of riders using their website. The correction software we use is based off of NASA's 3D model of the Earth. Because they use different data processing software than we do, the data will seem slightly different.
Do the GPS devices have a barometer?
From our Y10 GPS line, the Super GPS, Micro GPS, and Micro Color GPS devices have a barometer. The Y9 Devices do not have a barometer.
Does the GPS recording work well in [insert country]?
Yes, GPS stands for Global Positioning System therefore it will work the same globally.
Are there aftermarket front/aero mounts available for Lezyne GPS units?
Is the GPS mount compatible with 35mm handlebars?
The standard O-ring mount will work for 35mm handlebars.
How do I update the software on my GPS?
Updates for the GPS software are available at www.lezyne.com or www.lezyne.com/gpsroot in the "Support" pull down menu.

If I start riding before a GPS signal is acquired, will it track my ride?
You must wait for a GPS signal to be acquired in order for all ride data to be recorded correctly. You can start the recording but data will not be tracked until a GPS signal is acquired and elevation may be negatively affected.
What do I do if my screen freezes?
You will need to do a hard reset. See explanation below.
How do I hard reset my Lezyne GPS?
On Y10 Devices, you do a hard reset by holding the "Menu" and "Enter" buttons for 30 seconds. On Y9 Devices, you hold down the "Back" and "Menu" buttons for 45 seconds.

Can I charge my GPS with an external battery pack while it is recording?
The Y10 GPS models are capable of charging while recording. You cannot charge a Y9 GPS Device while it's recording.
Will my GPS work under tree cover?
Yes, but it can affect signal strength and will vary depending on the tree density. To improve this, we use a highly sensitive GPS chip and optimized the recording to maintain a connection in low signal areas.
How do I know if my power meter is compatible with Lezyne GPS?
Why does my GPS take up to a minute to connect to a Bluetooth sensor?
Some Bluetooth devices take longer than others to establish a connection based on the sensor manufacturer's specifications.
Will the Lezyne GPS work with my current cadence sensor or heart rate monitor?
I'm paired with an external speed sensor, but why is my speed not accurate?
The wheel size calculation may not be set to the correct size of your wheel. This can be corrected in the Bike Profile settings. Also, be sure to check the battery in the sensor and your wheel magnet placement. It has to be within two millimeters of the sensor, and make sure that only one magnet is attached to the wheel.
How do I pair my power meter to my Lezyne GPS?
In the menu you on your Lezyne GPS, scroll to sensors, then to “Power” and select “Enable” to start the pairing with available devices. Each power meter may have a specific way to start the pairing function, so you'll need to follow the manufacturer’s instructions on how to enable the power meter. If your power meter has included speed or cadence it will work automatically once the power meter is paired successfully.

Note: Your power meters additional speed or cadence metrics will override secondary sensors by default.
Why doesn't my Lezyne GPS Device automatically update the time zone when I travel?
All Y10 GPS with software version 4.114 and above can be set to automatically update the time zone through the GPS Ally V2 app. In the More tab select GPS Settings -> General Setup-> Time, set the time zone to "Automatic" and tap "Save". You GPS time zone data will now be automatically updated any time it is paired with your smartphone and the Ally V2 app is open.
For Y9 devices and Y10 devices not utilizing the above feature, if you travel into a different time zone, you’ll need to manually change the time zone in your device. If the time zone on the GPS device isn’t correct, our GPS Root website will automatically update it in your ride summary once it’s uploaded. The time zone setting is located in the Time menu on your device.
Is the Lezyne GPS Mount the same as Garmin's mount?
No—while it may look similar, it is actually a more secure mounting system. We have 4 large tabs that we call our "X-Lock" design, which is a much more secure connection because it's a push and turn to release the unit. The GPS device is inserted at a 45-degree angle and then pressed down and twisted until it "locks" into place. Rigorous testing has proven it to be a superior and safer mount. It's also unique in that it can't be mounted sideways—no matter what position the mount is in, the computer can always be mounted forward.
Can weather affect the GPS signal?
Dense clouds are known to degrade the GPS signal on any GPS device. However, we have the latest GPS chip technology and advanced GPS programming to help maintain the best possible connection.
If I have a cadence, speed, and heart rate sensor paired with my Lezyne GPS and record a ride on a stationary trainer, will the GPS Root website still display my ride data even though I haven't moved?
Yes, it will show the data that is recorded on our website. There will obviously be no route on the map, or elevation profile, but you will still be able to analyze the rest of your ride metrics that were recorded from your external devices. Please note you must have an approved sensor.

How accurate is the GPS elevation reading?
Lezyne GPS devices have the latest GPS chip technology and advanced GPS programming to consistently read within 5 – 10 meters of a fixed elevation point (results may vary from device to device). Some models have a barometer to increase the accuracy of the GPS elevation calculation and also will show you accent and decent data while riding.
I've erased all rides from my unit when it was plugged in to my Mac computer, but the device is still full. What do I do?
Make sure you empty your computer's trash while the device is plugged in. Or, select "Erase All" in the Records menu on your device.
How can I turn on the backlight on my GPS unit for night riding?
To turn the backlight on simply press the "enter" button (bottom/left) to turn on or off the backlight. If you would prefer the backlight to turn off automatically after turning it on, go into the device menu and select: Auto > Light > On (or Enabled). The backlight will now turn off after 10-seconds.
How do I build routes for my GPS Device?
Can I upload a route to my Y10 GPS Device without an internet connection?
On your saved routes page, there are two arrows in a circular shape. Tapping that will sync all of your saved routes to your phone. Once saved to your phone, a phone logo will appear next to the route.
Do I need to have my phone connected to my Y10 GPS Device for the turn by turn directions to work?
When initially starting your directions, you do need to be paired with the phone using the Ally v2 app. Once the directions are sent to the phone, as long as you stay on-route, you won’t need a phone connection again. If you go off-route, the phone will need to connect briefly to re-route. Note: when following an imported TCX or GPX file, following a saved route, or a multi-waypoint route created in the app, re-routing is not an option.
I uploaded a TCX file from Strava to my Y10 GPS Device. Why are there no turn-by-turn directions?
Not all TCX files contain turn by turn navigation data. The file must contain turn by turn for it to upload the directions. If not the ride is just a line. You would have to re-create the route with directions then re-upload.
Why won't GPX files give me turn by turn navigation?
Turn by turn navigation (TBT) is only written in TCX codes, so if you're using a GPX file it will not produce TBT. Also, it is important to note that not all TCX files produce TBT, only certain ones do. For instance, Strava TCX codes do not have TBT written in them. Why am I getting cadence but no speed when using my Lezyne Speed and Cadence Sensor?
You are most likely paired to speed and cadence separately. You'll need to make sure if you're using a sensor that does both speed and cadence that you are pairing by selecting the Speed and Cadence option in the menu, rather than selecting Speed and Cadence separately.
I'm having trouble pairing my Lezyne Heart Rate Monitor (HRM). Any Tips?
First, be sure you take off the thin plastic layer that is on the battery. It can be hard to see, but most of the time this part just hasn't been peeled off.
Also, you'll need to make sure that you're wearing the heart rate strap before it will turn on and read heart rate. Sometimes wetting the strap a little bit will help it read better.
Once you get it to pair, make sure to take the HRM off after every ride, as if it's left on a wet strap the HRM may try to continuously read and the battery will die more quickly than it should.
Why won't my device show sensor icons with the charge level next to it?
Only ANT+ power meters report battery level. No other ANT+ sensors report battery life. Most Bluetooth sensors report battery life.
Why can't I choose between Glonass & GPS on my Y10 Device?
The Y10 Super, Micro C, & Micro C Watch have both the GPS & Glonass enabled chip. The device automatically chooses between the Glonass and GPS or a combination of the two signals for the highest degree of accuracy.
How do I calibrate the barometer in my device? (Y10 Super, Micro C, & Micro only)
The barometer self-calibrates when it turns on. It is best to turn it on while you are outside.
What is the difference between adaptive recording and once per second recording?
Adaptive recording records while moving at 1 - 15 second intervals depending on how constant direction and speed are. This helps to save battery and maximize storage space. Once per second recording forces the device to record at once per second, so you'd record more data points but run down the battery faster and use more recording space.
Where do I find my saved routes in the Ally 2 App? (Y10 only)
First, go to the Navigation tab on the bottom menu bar on the App. Then, select the menu in the upper left corner. "Saved Routes" should pop up under the list. You can then select from the saved routes you've created or uploaded in GPS Root.

Which Lezyne LED light should I buy?
If you are planning on doing high speed or trail night riding, we recommend the Performance line of lights. What's the difference between the lights?
We put our lights into different categories based on the type of riding you're doing. Performance lights suggests fast night riding on the road or trail, while Sport lights are lower in lumens, but still provide the ability to see at lower speeds and to be seen.
Do I have to use your USB cable to charge my Lezyne light?
While it is not necessary, it is best to use the Lezyne charging cable provided with your light. We have optimized our lights to charge in a very particular environment, so using a non-Lezyne USB cable could damage the light and will void your warranty.
Can I use an external battery charger to charge my extra batteries?
Lezyne has three older models of lights that have removable batteries: Mini Drive XL, Power Drive XL, and Super Drive XL. These batteries can be completely removed and installed on a wall charger for charging. Lezyne sells an "International Charging Kit" to work in a number of electrical situations. The Y4-Y7 Mega and Y8 Deca Drive batteries can only be charged in the light.
What is the best range of temperature to use my Lezyne LED in?
The best operating temperatures are between 35-90 degrees Fahrenheit (1.7-32 Celcius).
Can I use my lights when it is really cold?
If you are riding in temperatures below freezing, turn on your light in the house to let it warm up before going out riding.
Can I use my Lezyne LED as a handheld flashlight?
Using Lezyne Performance Lights as a handheld flashlight is not recommended. When you are using it as a handheld flashlight, you are moving at a much slower speed than you would be if you were riding and are not providing much airflow to keep the LEDs at reasonable temperatures. Without the needed airflow, the light will automatically switch to the lowest output and may even shut off if it over heats. Our sport line does not need as much airflow, so you can use these as a handheld flashlight.
What is race mode?
Lezyne has Race Mode for all the Performance XL LED lights along with the Hecto Drive and Micro Drive. When the light is turned off, hold the power button for five seconds the light will turn on and flash once indicating that the light has switched modes. Once in Race Mode you will have two modes the highest lumen output and the lowest lumen output. The light will stay in Race Mode even after turning the light on and off. To return to the normal settings and to get all modes, including flash mode, turn the light off, then hold the power button down for five seconds till the light turns on and flashes.
Can I use any USB wall outlet adapter to charge my Lezyne LED?
Lezyne recommends using Lezyne International 2A USB Charging Unit wall chargers for our lights, however, other wall chargers with USB plugs will also work.
What size batteries are used in older (Y4-Y8) Lezyne lights?
The Lezyne Mini Drive XL uses LIR 123A batteries, the Power Drive XL and Super Drive XL use LIR 18650 batteries, and the Mega Drive uses a proprietary 2-part battery pack. The Femto Drive (front and rear) uses CR2032 batteries. All Lezyne batteries are available separately. The Y9 and later model lights do not have replaceable batteries.
How long does it take to fully charge my light?
Charge time is dependent on what light you own, what type of USB charging port you use, and whether or not your light supports 1 amp or 2 amp charging. You can find this information under the "Spec" tab on the product page of the light.
What is the life of a lithium ion battery? How many cycles will it take?
While this is a common question, there is no common answer. Generally, the battery will last between 100 and 1000 charge cycles. There are a variety of factors that can play into the life of a lithium ion battery. For example, it depends on how often the light is used, how often the battery is charged and recharged, if it's charged off of a half full cycle or not, what temperatures the light is run in usually, and any other hundreds of cofactors. In attempt to generalize these factors, we estimate 500 cycles until the battery reaches half capacity.
Will the battery get a "memory" if I recharge it too soon?
No this is a problem with NiCd rechargeable batteries. All of our batteries are lithium ion and do not have this issue.
Do you have to run the battery down until it is dead before recharging?
You should try and run the battery from fully charged to fully discharged with every cycle in order to ensure longer battery life.
Why should I use Lezyne branded batteries?
Lezyne batteries should be used with Lezyne lights for a number of reasons. First and foremost, we source our own batteries. This ensures higher quality pieces in every LED and battery that run and last as claimed (numerous battery manufacturers greatly skew their battery runtimes, voltages, etc.). We also build and test all our lights to work as an all-inclusive package where each part of the product is specifically designed to work with another part of the product. Changing parts can and will throw off the performance of our LEDs.

How do you test your LED lights?
We test all of our lights using a lab calibrated integrating sphere, which measures visible light. While some brands may claim their lumen output, ours is actually tested and confirmed.
What is an integrating sphere?
An integrating sphere is an instrument with a highly reflective interior that reflects the light into a port to measure the lumen output of your light. The port connects to a fiber optic cable which connects to a sensor to measure the lumen output. The sphere measures all of your light output rather than a lux meter that measures a certain point of the light, giving a more consistent and honest reading. You can also measure the lumen output overtime to see if the light has a constant lumen output or if it dims overtime.

What is the difference between the Flip Thread Chuck and the Speed Chuck?
Our Flip Thread Chuck is compatible with both Presta and Schrader valves. It is a thread on style chuck that is designed with ABS button (Air Bleed System) that prevents the removal of valve cores. Our Speed Chuck is an accessory to the Flip Thread Chuck so you can use our pumps with valve extenders. It converts the Presta valve side of the Flip Thread Chuck to a press on style chuck that does not require you to thread on.
What is the difference between the speed chuck and the slip chuck?
The difference between the Speed Chuck and the Slip Chuck is material. Our Slip Chuck is all CNC-machined aluminum, where our Speed Chuck is composed of carbon matrix plastic. The biggest difference is that our Slip Chuck is designed to be rebuilt and it comes with six replaceable O-rings. Both The Speed Chuck and Slip Chuck are only to be used with threadless valve extenders.
Do you sell extra O-rings for the Speed Chuck and Slip Chuck?
Yes, extra O-rings can be purchased separately. Our Slip Chuck comes with 6 replacement O-rings. These O-rings will keep your Slip Chuck in working order for many cycles of use. Our Speed Chucks, which come standard with all Flip Chuck equipped pumps, do not come with replacement O-rings.
Why do Lezyne pumps thread onto a valve?
We designed our pumps with a thread-on connection in order to ensure a proper seal between our Flex-Hose and the valve stem. This is done to ensure an accurate pressure reading, proper tire inflation, and for ease-of-use. It is also more reliable and durable with less parts to wear out.
Are your pumps rebuildable?
Our pumps are 100% serviceable and rebuildable. If you experience any issues please return to your original place of purchase and they will be able to assist you in getting the replacement parts you need. What is ABS?
"ABS" stands for Air Bleed System. This is designed to be able to dial your pressure in before removing your chuck. When hooked up to a Presta valve with the desired PSI in your tire, pressing the ABS button will release the back pressure just within the pump system to relieve the pressure from the valve. This takes all the back pressure off your valve. Pressing this button when hooked up to a Schrader valve will release the pressure within the tube, not within the pump.
Will the ABS Flip Chuck or ABS-2 work on my older pump?
All of our chucks are backwards and forwards compatible, meaning older style chucks will work with the newer style pumps and newer chucks will work with an older pump.
My gauge is broken, can I replace it?
Yes! All Lezyne pumps are 100% serviceable and rebuildable.

Do Lezyne floor pumps work with valve extenders?
Both our floor pumps and hand pumps both work with most valve extenders. Valve extenders without valve cap threads are not compatible with our new ABS-2 head. However, you can use the ABS-2 chuck with Lezyne Valve extenders.
Can I replace my hose?
You can purchase and replace the hose on your floor pump. It is a relatively easy fix that is recommended if your hose is what might be called, "beyond its years." Because the hose contains up to 220psi, having a good hose is crucial.

Will Lezyne pumps work with removable valve cores?
Yes - as with any part on your bicycle, make sure they are properly tight before riding or pumping.
My Lezyne pump keeps removing my valve cores, how do I make it stop?
Many inner tube manufactures do not sufficiently tighten valve cores upon assembly. First check that your valve cores are properly tightened. Do not over tighten the pump onto the valve. Our ABS feature that is built into our Flip Thread Chucks & ABS-2 Chucks relieve the back pressure. When hooked up to a Presta valve with the desired PSI in your tire, pressing the ABS button will release the back pressure just within the pump system to relieve the pressure from the valve. This takes all the back pressure off your valve so when it comes time for unthreading, you do not remove your core.
Do your pumps work with disc wheels?
In conjunction with our Floor Pumps, the Slip Chuck utilizes a 90 degree bend in its design so that it can fit in disc wheels.

What is the difference between the gold and the red ABS Flip Thread Chucks?
The gold ABS Flip Thread Chuck is designed for our High Pressure (HP) Floor Pumps, while the red ABS Flip Chuck is designed for higher volume applications, and will fit our High Volume (HV) Floor Pumps.
Can I use my Over Drive HV floor pump to inflate the tubes on my road bike?
Your Over Drive HV floor pump will inflate your road bike tires and tubes to 60 PSI. If you attempt to go over 60 PSI, you can blow your gauge off.

What is the difference between HP and HV floor pumps?
Lezyne offers both a HP (High Pressure) and a HV (High Volume) version of every pump. "HP" stands for High Pressure. Road bike tires are thin, low volume, and require higher pressures (anywhere between 90 and 160 PSI). Our HP pumps are designed to make it easier to pump up road bike tires to those pressures by using smaller pump barrels. "HV" stands for High Volume. Most mountain bike tires are wider and larger, requiring more volume to fill up these tires. We developed our HV pumps with bigger pump barrels to push more air into the tires, making inflation of mountain bike tires faster and easier.
Which floor pump can I use to inflate both my road and mountain bike tubes?
If you had to choose one pump, we suggest going with one from the HP (High Pressure) lineup with a digital gauge. The HP will allow you to get to high pressures and the digital gauge will give you the low pressure accuracy for high volume applications.
What is the difference between the floor pumps?
Most of the differences are in the materials and features. Generally, the higher end models are composed of all CNC aluminum or steel. Our Sport Floor models are composed of a composite matrix material for the base. Another main difference is High Pressure (Road) vs. High Volume (Mountain). Do you have an adapter to connect any of your chucks (Flip Thread Chuck or ABS-2) to an air compressor?
We do not have adaptors to fit any of our chucks to air compressors. Our HV pumps are so effective in High Volume applications that they nearly eliminate the need for air compressors (to seat tubeless tires) completely.
What type of lube do I use on my Lezyne pump?
For floor pumps, you can use grease that is commonly used on other parts of your bicycle. This is usually thick, petroleum based grease. DO NOT USE LIQUID OILS. Be sure not to over-grease the pump, it only needs enough to coat the surfaces, not so much that it makes the O-ring stuck on the piston. Do not get any grease into the one way valve at the bottom of the barrel, as it can cause the pump to leak air back through the barrel when under pressure. For hand pumps, silicone grease is best, but thick petroleum based grease could be used as a substitute. Same rules apply; don't over grease and don't get any grease in the one-way valve.

What is the difference between HV and HP pumps?
HV hand pumps refer to high volume pumps, while HP hand pumps refers to high pressure pumps. The main difference between HP and HV and pumps is the barrel diameter. The HP hand pumps have a smaller barrel diameter that pushes less air volume than the HV pumps, but allows you to achieve a higher pressure. Typically you want a HP hand pump for high pressure tires ranging from 80psi-160psi. Typically, this refers to skinnier road tires, but some people have wider tires that require high pressure as well. Our HV pumps work better on high volume tires that require lower pressures. For example, HV pumps would work best for fat bikes and mountain bike tires, ranging from 0-60psi.
Which hand pump should I buy?
Generally, if you are riding a road bike or a commuter bike, you will likely want one of our HP (High Pressure) models. These pumps range from 0psi-120psi. If riding a mountain bike or a fat bike, you will want to look at any of our HV (High Volume) models. These pumps range from 0psi-90psi and deliver a higher volume of air into the tire then our high pressure pumps. Will my HV pump work on my road bike?
A HV (High Volume) pump will partially fill your road bike tire. However, the pump will not get to pressures necessary to properly fill your tire, and riding on an improperly inflated tire is not safe.
Will my HP pump work on my mountain bike?
Yes, a HP (High Pressure) pump will certainly work on your mountain bike. However, it will push less volume in than a HV (High Volume) pump and will take longer to properly fill the tire.
Can the Pen Gauge work on all Lezyne hand pumps?
Yes, the Pen Gauge comes with an ABS Chuck.
How many strokes does it take to inflate a tire?
Due to the amount of variables, there is not a single answer to this question. There are so many different "standardized" tire sizes that it is hard for us to give a generalized statement for all our pumps. The quality and design of our pumps make pumping easy, no matter how many strokes it takes.
What is the difference between the Road Drive and Pressure Drive pumps?
The main difference between the Road Drive and Pressure Drive hand pumps is the diameter of the barrels. The Road Drive barrel has a slightly smaller diameter which makes getting up to higher pressures a bit easier on the arms. The Road Drive also has a full aluminum piston head, where the Pressure Drive has a carbon matrix piston head. It also should be noted that the Flex Hose that comes with the Road Drive is only compatible with Presta valves. This ABS Flex Hose has both a threaded and a slip-fit Presta valve connection. The Pressure Drive is equipped with our dual ABS Flex Hose that is compatible with both Presta and Schrader valves.
It is also important to note that the two pumps come with different mounts. While both pumps come with brackets for mounting to bottle cage bolts, only the Road Drive comes with an aluminum version. The pump bracket for the Road Drive is only designed to hold the barrel of the pump, so the pump also comes with a barrel sleeve to keep the pump closed when not in use. The mount for the Pressure Drive is made from Composite Matrix and is designed to hold the handle and the barrel of the pump in place.
The two pumps also differ in size offerings. The Road Drive is available in Medium and Large sizes while the Pressure Drive is available in Small and Medium sizes.

The ABS Speed Flex hose comes on the Road Drive and Carbon Road Drive hand pumps only and is designed for use with Presta valves only. One side of the hose is a NON-THREADED slip-fit connection for speed and ease of inflation, while the other side is a threaded Presta connection for ensured stability.

Yes, our new Flex Hose with the Air Bleed System(ABS) is able to thread into your older model Lezyne hand pump. ABS Flex Hoses are available separately for purchase if you're looking to upgrade your older hand pump.

Do your hand pumps work on valve extenders?
Lezyne hand pumps utilize a threaded connection in which the Flex Hose threads directly onto the valve. If your valve extenders have threaded tips which accept a standard plastic dust cap, then your Lezyne pump will work with your extenders. If your valve extenders are smooth and do not have a threaded tip, there are 2 options which you can choose from: Purchase Lezyne Valve Extenders which have threaded tips compatible with Lezyne's threaded Flex Hose. Or you can Upgrade your pump with Lezyne's ABS Speed Flex Hose which has both a Presta threaded connection and a Presta Slip-Fit connection. This ABS Flex Hose comes standard on both the Carbon Road Drive and Road Drive hand pumps. You can purchase this upgrade directly through your local Lezyne retailer or directly though Lezyne USA if located within the United States.
What is the difference between the hand pumps?
The major distinguisher between every hand pump in our line is materials used. Our Carbon Road Drive is made of a full carbon barrel, CNC end caps and internal parts (for strength, weight, and durability). Our HP Drive has a barrel and shaft that are made up of Aluminum. What is the difference between the three shock pumps?
We offer two hand pump style Shock Drives. One is our new Digital Shock Drive, with a built in digital gauge on the side of the barrel, and the other is the Shock Drive, with a traditional analogue gauge. Our hand models are designed for the trail and easily hide away in a pack. The third model we offer is our Shock Digital Drive. This pump is a full size floor pump and designed to be a "shop" tool or for at home use. Our Shock Digital Drive is built to outlast the everlasting abuse of bike mechanics. It also comes equipped with a braided hose for durability and a two-step shock specific chuck that allows you to keep a sealed connection, leaving the perfect pressure when threading off.

What is your lightest hand pump?

What is your smallest hand pump?
Our smallest hand pumps are the size Small hand pumps. These pumps measure about 7.5in/19cm in length. We offers both HP and HV pumps in the Small size.
Do you make a frame pump?
While we often receive requests to make an older, more traditional style "frame pump,” it is extremely difficult to make a pump that meets Lezyne quality and performance standards while at the same time fits the wide variety of complex frame geometries and tube shapes of modern bike frames. Therefore, we attach our pumps with a mount that uses water bottle cage bolts since almost all frames accept water bottle cages. In addition, our “large” style HP handpumps are nearly as efficient old style frame pumps with their included flex hose and overlapping handle.
Can I rebuild and service my hand pump?

Why do Lezyne pumps thread onto a valve?
We designed almost all of our pumps with a threaded connection because it is the most effective way to secure the pump to the valve. The threaded connection will ensure that all of the air that you pump actually goes into the tire. It is also more reliable and durable with fewer parts to wear out.
Does the ABS Speed Flex Hose (from the Carbon Road Drive and Road Drive) work with disc wheels?
While it may be possible, it is not optimized to do so and is not the best option for a disc wheel.

Can I use the CO2 Flex Hose with other Lezyne hand pumps?
No. Only the pressure CFH pump can use the CO2 Flex hose.
Can I use 25G CO2 cartridges with my Lezyne CO2 inflator?
The Alloy Drive CO2 inflator only works with 16G CO2, while the rest of our CO2 inflators will work with all threaded 16G to 25G CO2 cartridges. The 25g cartridges are best to fill higher volume tires (like mountain bikes) and 16g cartridges are meant for higher pressure applications (such as road bikes). We also offer a 20g cartridge for the mid-volume tires found on gravel-type bikes.
Can I use threadless CO2 cartridges with your Lezyne CO2 inflators?
No.

Yes! The Alloy Cage and the Carbon Cage have an integrated pump mount that will fit Road Drive style hand pumps.
Do your bottle cages work on small frames?

Why do you have L-bend hex keys on your tools?
L-bend hex keys make some awkward and hard-to-get-to Allen bolts easier to reach and work on. They also give you more torque if necessary.

Do you make a cassette tool for Campagnolo?
Lezyne does not make a cassette tool for Campagnolo drive train parts. The only Campagnolo compatible tool that we make is our 11 Speed Campagnolo chain breaker.
Can you use your chain whip tools on 11-speed cassettes?

Can I put a single speed chain on your chain whips?
No, they are designed multi-speed chains.
Will the CNC rod work with my non-Lezyne cassette and bottom bracket tools?
Our CNC Rod was designed specifically to be used in conjunction with our 2-Way tools. No other manufacturer's tools will work with our CNC Rod.
Are the bits on the 3-Way Y-Wrenches interchangeable?
All of our 3-way tools come with an extra set of replacement bits. Each model is designed to fit the corresponding bits. You cannot interchange bits between the 3 models.
Can I replace the 3-Way bits with any hex key?
No, they are designed to be used with the proper bits.

Our Smart Kit patches are self-adhesive patches that you peel and place on the tube where a hole is present. They are quick and easy fixes for on-the-fly repairs, which are meant only to get you home safely. Our Classic Kit uses glue to adhere the patches to the tube, creating a more permanent bond with the tube.

Can your self-adhesive patches work on high-pressure road tubes?
Our self-adhesive patches work very well on most high and low pressure applications.
Can I use my Saber Lever to remove my pedals?
Yes. You can use your Saber Lever to remove pedals if the pedal removal size is 15mm.
Is it safe to use the alloy levers on my carbon clincher wheels?
We do not recommend using metal levers on carbon clincher wheels. We developed the Power and Matrix Levers for carbon wheels.
What is the difference between Power Levers and the Matrix Levers?
Power Levers were designed to give you extra torque on wire bead tires. They have integrated spoke hooks that allow you to hook the lever onto a spoke, freeing up both of your hands. The Matrix Levers are designed strictly as a tire removal tool with no extras, just light and strong.
